UMC / Motion Calendar
UMC hearings are held Tuesday through Thursday, 8:45 AM to 9:15 AM in Courtroom 6D, and are scheduled by the parties, not the Judicial Assistant. Attorneys may attend via Zoom. No contested evidentiary hearings or temporary custody cases are allowed. Upload proposed orders at least one day prior.

Courtesy Copies
Courtesy copies of motions for UMC or special set hearings and supporting documents must be sent via US Mail or carrier one business day before the hearing or brought in-person for in-person hearings.

Zoom Hearings
Zoom hearings are permitted for UMC hearings, case management, lack of prosecution, uncontested final hearings, and others. Professional attire is required, as Zoom hearings are treated as official court proceedings.

Proposed Orders
Proposed orders must be submitted via Online Scheduling (OLS) at least one day before the hearing. Parties must send them to the opposing side for agreement or objection. Do not submit them by email unless explicitly instructed.

Special Set Hearings
Special set hearings require prior mediation (except temporary custody), a 5-minute status conference scheduled on the UMC calendar, and a proposed order for the hearing. Time is limited to 30 minutes unless extended by court order. Cancellation requires a court-approved order showing good cause.

For reopened cases requiring a special set hearing, the motion must reference docket entries for re-open pleadings, Magistrate referral, and objections, and follow required procedures to avoid denial.

Emergency Motions
Emergency motions must be filed with the Clerk's e-portal and flagged as 'Emergency Filing.' Judge Leitner will review these filings directly. Proposed orders and the emergency motion should be uploaded via OLS and shared with all parties.
